Small business seeking a file clerk to assist with scanning, filing, and organizing at our office in Huntington Beach. No experience needed, perfect for a high school/college student looking for a flexible part-time position. We are seeking someone to work 10-15 hours/week during office hours - Monday through Friday 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

Looking for someone who is hard working and focused, and interested in getting some real world office experience and opportunity for accounting experience as well. Our office has a casual, yet professional environment, located in Huntington Beach, near the 405 Freeway and Beach Boulevard.

Leading wholesaler and distributor of petroleum products, Pinnacle Petroleum, has an immediate need for an Accounting Manager to provide accounting support to the organization, involving independent judgement and action. This person will be responsible for the accounting activities of the organization aiming to drive automation and efficiency and to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (U.S. GAAP). This position reports to the VP of Finance. We are looking for a seasoned Accounting Manager who is interested in part time OR full time work.

  • Ensure timely reporting of daily, weekly and monthly management reports.

  • Prepare pre-closing account schedule and reconciliations including resolving discrepancies.

  • Prepare, analyze and report weekly profitability by job report.

  • Manage Billing and AP departments.

  • Prepare and analyze daily fuel and freight reconciliations.

  • Collaborate, plan and manage Billing and AP to ensure A/R and A/P processes are running smoothly and timely. Resolve daily issues.

  • Reconcile A/R and A/P monthly aging to general ledger.

  • Prepare necessary journal entries for pre close monthly financial statement reporting

  • Prepare and reconcile monthly, quarterly and annual sales/use tax, fuel tax and other required filings for various tax jurisdictions

  • Prepare monthly lead schedule for excise/sales tax receivables and payables.

  • Ensure compliance with tax rate changes including updating in accounting system and communication with Management.

  • Ensure tax compliance with customers and vendors.

  • Develop processes/systems that continually accomplish and improve accuracy and efficiency.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and guidelines

  • Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflow

  • Back up for payroll and end of month close.

  • Special projects as assigned.

  • Work closely with other key internal relationships.


  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or Business.

  • Minimum of 10 years of accounting experience, CPA preferred.

  • Experience with Sage 100 and PowerBI a plus.

  • Advanced Excel skills; knowledge of VBA is a plus.

  • Direct experience performing detailed and data intensive reconciliations.

  • Strong technical accounting skills and be current with regulations and compliance issues.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

  • Must have the ability to work in a dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and shifting time requirements

  • Embraces teamwork

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Salary is dependent on experience and hours worked.
